Day 1: Arrival in Srinagar + Local Sightseeing

Your Kashmir adventure begins the moment you land at Srinagar International Airport or arrive at Srinagar Railway Station. Our friendly representative will greet you with a warm Kashmiri welcome and escort you to your accommodation – either a cozy hotel or a traditional houseboat on the iconic Dal Lake.

After freshening up, kick off your journey with local sightseeing in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu & Kashmir. Here’s what’s in store:

  • Mughal Gardens: Stroll through the meticulously landscaped Nishat Bagh (Garden of Pleasure) and Shalimar Bagh (Garden of Love), built by Mughal emperors. These terraced gardens, adorned with fountains and vibrant flowers, offer stunning views of Dal Lake and Zabarwan Hills.

  • Shankaracharya Temple: Perched atop a hill, this ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva offers panoramic views of Srinagar. The 250+ steps to the top are worth the effort for the spiritual ambiance and breathtaking scenery.

  • Hazratbal Shrine: Visit this sacred mosque on the banks of Dal Lake, known for its serene white marble architecture and the holy relic it houses.

As the sun sets, embark on a Shikara ride (1 hour) on Dal Lake. Glide through calm waters, passing floating markets, lotus gardens, and houseboats, as the golden hues of sunset paint the sky. It’s a magical experience that captures the essence of Kashmir.

Evening: Return to your hotel or houseboat for a delicious Kashmiri dinner featuring local delicacies like Rogan Josh, Yakhni, or Dum Aloo. Overnight stay in Srinagar.

Travel Tip: Carry a light jacket, as evenings in Srinagar can be cool, even in summer. Don’t forget your camera for the Shikara ride!

Day 2: Day Trip to Gulmarg – The Meadow of Flowers

Rise and shine to a hearty breakfast at your hotel or houseboat. Today, you’ll head to Gulmarg (approx. 50 km, 1.5-2 hours), a paradise for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts.

Known as the "Meadow of Flowers," Gulmarg transforms into a snowy wonderland in winter and a lush green valley in summer. Upon arrival, prepare for a day of awe-inspiring experiences:

  • Gondola Ride: Take the Gulmarg Gondola, one of the highest cable cars in the world, for jaw-dropping views of snow-capped peaks. Phase 1 takes you to Kongdori (8,530 ft), while Phase 2 (optional) ascends to Apharwat Peak (13,780 ft). In winter, the slopes are perfect for skiing or snowboarding.

  • Meadow Walks: In summer, stroll through Gulmarg’s vibrant meadows dotted with wildflowers. Visit the Gulmarg Biosphere Reserve for a chance to spot Himalayan wildlife.

  • Adventure Activities: Try snow sledging (winter) or horse riding (summer) for an adrenaline rush.

Lunch: Enjoy a meal at a local restaurant (optional) or savor packed snacks amidst nature.

By late afternoon, bid farewell to Gulmarg and return to Srinagar. Spend a relaxed evening at your hotel or houseboat, followed by dinner.

Overnight: Stay in Srinagar.

Travel Tip: Book Gondola tickets in advance (especially in peak season) to avoid long queues. Wear sturdy shoes and layered clothing for Gulmarg’s chilly weather.

Day 3: Day Trip to Pahalgam – The Valley of Shepherds

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Pahalgam (approx. 90 km, 2.5-3 hours), a picturesque valley known as the "Valley of Shepherds." Surrounded by pine forests, rolling hills, and the gushing Lidder River, Pahalgam is a haven for nature lovers and filmmakers (many Bollywood movies were shot here!).

Today’s highlights include:

  • Betaab Valley: Named after the Bollywood film Betaab, this valley is a postcard-perfect landscape with green meadows, snow-clad peaks, and a sparkling stream. It’s ideal for photography and leisurely walks.

  • Aru Valley: A short drive from Pahalgam, Aru Valley offers tranquil views and opportunities for pony rides or short treks. It’s a great spot to soak in the serenity.

  • Lidder River: Spend time by the river, dipping your toes in the icy waters or simply enjoying the sound of the flow. Adventurous travelers can opt for white-water rafting (seasonal).

Lunch: Relish a meal at a local restaurant or enjoy a picnic by the river (optional).

In the late afternoon, drive back to Srinagar. Spend your evening unwinding at your hotel or houseboat, followed by a sumptuous dinner.

Overnight: Stay in Srinagar.

Travel Tip: Carry sunscreen and sunglasses, as Pahalgam’s high altitude means strong sunlight. Bargain politely if hiring ponies for valley visits.

Day 4: Day Trip to Sonamarg – The Meadow of Gold

Start your day with a wholesome breakfast before heading to Sonamarg (approx. 80 km, 2-2.5 hours), aptly called the "Meadow of Gold" for its golden landscapes and shimmering glaciers.

Sonamarg is a gateway to Ladakh and a treasure trove of natural wonders. Today’s activities include:

  • Thajiwas Glacier: Reach this stunning glacier via a short pony ride or a 1-2 hour trek from Sonamarg. Surrounded by snow-covered peaks, the glacier offers a surreal experience, whether you’re sipping tea at a nearby stall or playing in the snow (even in summer).

  • Scenic Views: Marvel at Sonamarg’s dramatic landscapes, with alpine meadows, waterfalls, and the mighty Sindh River. Photographers will be in paradise!

  • Adventure Options: For thrill-seekers, try guided treks or snowmobiling (winter).

Lunch: Enjoy a hot meal at a local restaurant (optional) or a packed lunch amidst the glacier’s backdrop.

Return to Srinagar by evening, where you can relax at your hotel or houseboat with dinner.

Overnight: Stay in Srinagar.

Travel Tip: Wear waterproof shoes and warm clothing for Sonamarg, as the glacier area can be cold and wet. Hire unionized ponies or guides for safety.

Day 5: Shopping in Srinagar Drop-Off

On your final day, savor a leisurely breakfast at your hotel or houseboat. Check out and dive into Srinagar’s vibrant markets for a shopping spree to take home a piece of Kashmir.

  • Lal Chowk & Polo View Market: Browse for authentic Kashmiri handicrafts**, pashmina shawls, saffron, dry fruits (walnuts, almonds), Kashmiri tea (Kehwa), and intricately carved wooden items. Don’t miss the famous Kashmiri carpets and paper mache products.

  • After shopping, our representative will transfer you to Srinagar Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey. As you bid farewell to Kashmir, you’ll carry unforgettable memories of its ethereal beauty and warm hospitality.

Tour Ends.
